What Binds Humanity Together?

What should global citizenship mean for Australians today?

How can we act together to advance our common humanity?

In July 2008 Barack Obama, speaking to hundreds of thousands of people in Berlin about American ties to Europe, declared that “the burdens of global citizenship continue to bind us together”.

The challenges of global citizenship have been faced by activists in Australia who have struggled to create an equal and hopeful society, able to help humanity resolve the huge tasks of our era. Some of their experiences are reviewed in a recent edited book *.

This forum will feature three prominent Australians, giving their distinctive perspectives about the tasks for global citizens today.
